Hosted by our friends at Four Seasons Hampshire in collaboration with LINLEY and yours truly, the experience seeks to ignite a “big fire” in you.
· “INHERIT” YOUR OWN HIGHCLERE CASTLE ·
From Lord Grantham to Cousin Matthew, and now in the hands of Lady Mary – why wait to inherit the Downton Abbey estate? With the beloved television program known to be filmed at the historical Highclere Castle, Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire is exhibiting in their Library Lounge an exquisite Highclere Castle Jewellery Box. Expertly hand-crafted using the finest maple, the miniature replica of Highclere Castle is available to purchase for £65,000.
The Highclere Castle Jewellery Box is hand-crafted by LINLEY, known for its bespoke neoclassical furniture and artisanal use of inlaid woods. Founded by David Albert Charles Armstrong-Jones, Viscount Linley, son of Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon and grandson to King George VI, the bespoke Highclere Castle Jewellery Box will surely be the crown jewel to any room.
· FOUR SEASONS DOWNTON ABBEY-INSPIRED AFTERNOON TEA ·
In celebration of the Jewellery Box, Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire’s Pastry Chef has created a Highclere Castle Afternoon Tea incorporating the Castle’s own Tealeaves limited edition “Highclere Blend”. Upstairs or downstairs, the aromatic blend of blackcurrant and Ceylon black tea creates perfect “hierarchy” in a cup.
· LORD OF THE MANOR – OLIVER BECKINGTON ·
If you miss Downton Abbey’s beloved yellow Labrador, Oliver Beckington will surely cheer you up. Named after two bishops who once resided on the Dogmersfield Estate, the beloved black Labrador is an integral part of Hampshire life. In Downton Abbey fashion, let him run alongside you as you attempt to ride sidesaddle at Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire’s newly opened Equestrian Centre.
· TOUR HIGHCLERE CASTLE ·
Travel back in time with an intimate, after-hours visit to Highclere Castle arranged by Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire’s Concierge Team:
“Guests of Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire will be driven to the castle in a vintage Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith for a behind-the-scenes tour of the opulent estate. Set amidst 405 hectares (1,000 acres) of magnificent gardens and forests, Highclere Castle has served as the Carnarvon family home since 1679. During your exclusive tour, you’ll encounter centuries-old works of art, architecture and interior design, along with antiques and a permanent Egyptian exhibit celebrating the fifth Earl of Carnarvon’s discovery of King Tutankhamen’s tomb with his archaeology partner Howard Carter in 1922. As you explore the castle and its grounds, learn about Highclere’s fascinating history and the British aristocrats who have called it home for centuries – a cast of characters as intriguing as anything you’ll ever see on television.”
